The following hotels have been booked for the school participants:

  • February 4 (check-in) -- February 9 (check-out): Hotel Steigenberger, Linz. Euro 78 per person per night in a single room, including breakfast.
  • February 9 (check-in) -- February 17 (check-out): Sommerhaus Hotel, Linz. Euro 35 per person per night in a single room, including breakfast.

The school bus leaves every school day at 08:30 from the hotel to Hagenberg and returns back at 17:30.

School Dinner

February 15, 20:00, Hotel Arcotel in Linz. Price:

  • SCIEnce grantees and lecturers: Free (35 Euro per accompanied person).
  • Other participants: 35 Euro per person.

How to Get There

  • From Linz train station (Hauptbahnhof) to Hotel Steigenberger: Either by taxi or by bus No. 27. To take the bus No. 27 from the train station go to the bus stop Hauptbahnhof/Kärntenstraße in front of the building. You have to cross the street and take the bus that goes to Schiffswerft (not to Chemie). Leave the bus at Gallanderstraße.
    • Timetable (Choose Linz in Town/District fields of Departure and arrival, Hauptbahnhof in the stop field of departure, and Hotel Steigenberger in the Place of Interest field of arrival).
    • Route.
  • From Hotel Steigenberger to Linz train station (Hauptbahnhof): Either by taxi or by bus No. 19 or No. 27 (from the bus stop Gallanderstraße).
    • Timetable (Choose Linz in Town/District fields of Departure and arrival, Hotel Steigenberger in the Place of Interest field of departure, and Hauptbahnhof in the stop field of arrival).
    • Route bus No. 19.
    • Route bus No. 27.
  • From Linz train station (Hauptbahnhof) to Hotel Sommerhaus: Either by taxi or by tram No. 1 or No. 2 (Direction Universitaet, last stop). The tram stop is on floor -2 of the train station.
    • Timetable (Choose Linz in Town/District fields of Departure and arrival, Hauptbahnhof in the stop field of departure, and University in the stop field of arrival).
    • Route, trams No. 1 and No. 2.
  • From Hotel Sommerhaus to Linz train station (Hauptbahnhof): Either by taxi or by tram No. 1 or No. 2.
    • Timetable (Choose Linz in Town/District fields of Departure and arrival, University in the stop field of departure, and Hauptbahnhof in the stop field of arrival).
    • Route, trams No. 1 and No. 2.
  • From Hotel Sommerhaus to Arcotel: Either by taxi or by tram No. 1 or No. 2.
    • Leave the tram at Hauptplatz (the first stop after crossing the Danube bridge). Walk for 15 minutes along Danube towards Lentos/Brucknerhaus/Arcotel.
  • From Hotel Steigenberger to Linz city center: By bus No. 19 from Gallanderstraße towards St. Margarethen. Leave the bus at the stop Hauptplatz.
  • From Hotel Sommerhaus to Linz city center: By tram No. 1 or No. 2. Leave the tram at Hauptplatz (the first stop after crossing the Danube bridge).

Bus and tram tickets can be purchased at stops from the ticket machines. You have to choose the MIDI ticket (Costs 1.60 Euro).
