|CGAL stands for "Computational Geometry
Algorithms Library". The acronym CGAL should be pronounced
as the bird: "seagull".
The goal of the project is to design and implement a robust, easy to
use, and efficient C++ software library of geometric algorithms. The library
is developed by the research institutes in close collaboration with the
A full description of the project can be found at the "CGAL
project Home Page".
The latest manual on the CGAL
library as well as other documents relevant to the development and usage
of the CGAL library can be found on the documentation page.
In the CGAL project 7 research institutes and 10 companies take part.

Three RISC members are participating directly in the CGAL project, as coworkers
RISC is responsible for Boolean Operations on Geometrical Objects and works
on several other topics.
We give the list of contributions of RISC to CGAL presented so far.
