In this section, we shall give a survey on some possibilities of variations of Gröbner bases computations. The purpose of this section is to give the user an idea of which aspects have to be observed in order to get the desired result. The aspects treated in this section will have their counterparts in Section 5, where possibilities of adjusting the library according to those aspects will be discussed.
