Location

The symposium will take place at the Research Institute for Symbolic Computation(RISC-Linz), which is an institute of the Johannes Kepler University in Linz. It is located in the castle of Hagenberg, a romantic, medieval castle amidst the lovely, hilly landscape of the Mühlviertel 20 km north west of Linz, the provincial capital of Upper Austria, located halfway between Salzburg and Vienna.

Travel

Travel to Linz

  • by plane:
    Linz has an international airport (LNZ) with good connections to Frankfurt, Zurich, Amsterdam and Brussels. From the Linz airport you can take a shuttle bus connection to the center of Linz. Other international airports nearby Linz are Vienna (VIE, 2 hours by train/car) and Munich (MUC, 3 hours by train/car).
  • by train:
    Linz can also be conveniently reached by train from Vienna,Salzburg or Munich (Train connections can be looked up using the Travel Planner).

Hotel Location

Travel to Hagenberg

Shuttle service will be provided from the hotels to Risc.
  • by bus:
    There are some bus connections to Hagenberg from the Linz train station, but not so often.
  • by train:
    (Train connections can be looked up using the Travel Planner).
    From the Linz airport there is a shuttle service to Hörsching train station. Take a train to Linz main station. From Linz main station take a train to Pregarten. From Pregarten, it takes 30 min. to rearch Hagenberg.
  • by car:
    Take the highway (Autobahn) to Linz, and there take the Autobahn to Prag (A7). About 15km outside of Linz the Autobahn ends. Go in the direction of Pregarten. About 1km before Pregarten you see the sign to Hagenberg (to the left).

Leisure Activities

Golf

Conference participants have the possibility to play golf on a golf court near Hagenberg. Special training programs, reduced fees, and shuttle service from/to Hagenberg are offered for conference participants. For details, please contact Nadja Richler (richler@hagenberg-congress.at).
